India and Caroline at Tie The Knot Wedding Fair

A trip out to Hertfordshire is always a treat (its where I grew up so I'm biased!), even more so when its to show off our personalised wines at the amazing Tie The Knot wedding carnival - like a wedding fair, but way more fun - think DJ's, street food and super cool suppliers!

Tie The Know Wedding Carnival

Placed in between two stunning florists we couldnt have asked for a nicer view for the day but there were some fantastic suppliers all around - from amazing photographers, to incredible cakes and caterers and some to die for marshmallows - mmmn.

We offered tastings of Moscato d'Asti and white chocolate and Sauvignon Blanc and goats cheese on our stand which all agreed went down a storm.

We had lots of people loving our personalised wedding party wine gifts ...

The WINNER of our competition was Hannah K - who's got a bottle of prosecco on its way to her this week! It's coming Hannah!

Teaming up with Darren from The Illustrated Chef was a great idea (one of the best we've had!) - we had a food and wine matching session showcasing some of our red wines and their barbecued meats.

Seriously, those meats were mouthwatering: chinese style beef, moroccan lamb and a salty pork belly. I'm still dreaming of them now!  Not the easiest foods to match with though with a limited selection of wines!

The beef was in a chilli, garlic and soy marinade, the lamb in ras al hanout, and cinnamon rub and and the pork belly came seasoned. The best matches ended up being beef and malbec (no surprise there!), the lamb and the grenache/syrah rose.

If you were at the tasting you should remember our food and wine matching tips:

FIRST - Flavour, Intensity, Region, Sweetness and Tannin

More on that soon!
