One word: Delicious. Goodbye Argentina, look what France can do
Whilst were selecting our wines we were pretty adamant that we wanted an Argentinian Malbec for our silver red wine offering. This cheeky one sneaked into the tasting though, and after we had a sniff and a slurp our best laid plans went out the window. France isn't regarded as one of the greatest wine producing countries for nothing!

Pays de l'haute Vallee de l'Aude, France
From the Roussillon region, near the towns of Carcassone and Limoux, around an hour from the French/Spanish border.
Malbec in France is often blended, here the decision was taken to let the grape shine on its own and it truly does! At the International Wine Challenge 2017 the wine was awarded a Bronze medal, praise indeed from one of the worlds biggest wine competitions.
Crushed blueberry aromas develop on to reveal some cassis with just a touch of underlying parma violets. Delicious red-fruits fill the mouth; raspberries and a hint of dark chocolate truffle.
A burger is a classic match for Malbec but this works equally well with sausages, chops and most grilled meats. If you're not a carnivore but still love the red wines, try it with seared tuna.
