Jerez is in the South-West of Spain, close to Gibraltar and the northern tip of Morocco. It is a region famous for Sherry (and Flamenco), but also has an amazing history – being populated since Neolithic times, ruled by Romans, Vandals & Visigoths, invaded by all and sundry and maintaining its wonderful wine industry throughout it all. Jerez is the inland point of the “Sherry Triangle” - the only places where sherry can be produced.
Non Vintage – This wine is aged in the Solera System.
Bodegas Rey Fernando de Castilla is one of the most exceptional of the small, independent sherry houses. The team are passionate and have won multiple awards year upon year!
Fino is the driest and lightest of all sherry styles. Sherry is aged in the solera system, where different vintages are “fractionally blended” so each finished bottle is a mix of several different vintages, to give the wine complexity.
Fino is just the most versatile of all wines! It is such a flexible accompaniment to savoury dishes but our absolute favourite is Jamon Iberico & Fino - simply heaven. Other great accompaniments are salted almonds. Yum. Or light fish dishes or seafood tapas. Double Yum.
